Bodybuilding Steroids

Anabolic steroid abuse

Anabolic steroids are prescribed and sometimes taken without doctor’s advice to increase muscle mass and improve performance.

If used in this way, they can cause serious side effects and addiction.

Anabolic steroids are drugs that mimic the effects of the male hormone testosterone. Not to be confused with corticosteroids. Corticosteroids are different types of steroid drugs that are commonly used in a variety of situations.

This page explains the dangers of anabolic steroid abuse and aims to advise those who are addicted to drugs.

Are anabolic steroids illegal?

Anabolic steroids are class C drugs that can only be sold by pharmacists on prescription.

Personal use of anabolic steroids is legal. They can also import or export, as long as it is done in person. This means they cannot be delivered by Courier or freight services.

However, it is illegal to possess, import or export anabolic steroids if someone believes you are supplying or selling them. This includes giving them to friends. The penalty is an unlimited fine and up to 14 years in prison.

In professional sports, most organizations ban the use of anabolic steroids and test athletes for banned steroids.

Why do people abuse anabolic steroids

Anabolic steroids can be used to improve athletic performance, increase muscle mass, reduce fat, and cause many adverse effects. Some athletes, weightlifters, and bodybuilders take the drug regularly to improve their energy and fitness.

However, they are abused by people of all ages, including adolescent boys with body dysmorphic disorder. It’s a mental health condition where a person spends a lot of time worrying about their physical imperfections. These shortcomings usually go unnoticed.

Boys and men with body dysmorphic disorder may take anabolic steroids because they don’t think their bodies are big or strong enough.

Some people believe that taking anabolic steroids will help them become healthy. Not so: anabolic steroids are a dangerous drug habit.

How are anabolic steroids taken

Anabolic steroids are usually injected into muscles or taken orally as tablets, but they can also be applied to the skin as creams or gels.

Many people who use anabolic steroids are aware of the dangers of taking steroids and believe that taking them in a certain way can prevent side effects.

Users may:

Take the medicine for a period of time, and take it after a period of rest. This is called “cycles.”

Taking more than one anabolic steroid at a time, known as “stack,” makes it work better. Take a low dose of one or more anabolic steroids and then increase the dose over time to the maximum dose. Then they stop taking the medication and rest for a period of time, giving the body a rest, and then they start circulating again.

But there is no evidence that any of these methods actually reduce the side effects of anabolic steroids. When users took higher doses of the drug, they tended to exercise more to take advantage of their improved performance over time.
